Speakers:
Prof. Xiaodong Zou
Professor, Department of Chemistry, Stockholm University
Talk Title: Serial Electron Diffraction Beyond MicroED for High-Resolution, Low-Damage Protein-Ligand Interactions
Bio: Xiaodong Zou is a full professor at the Department of Chemistry, Stockholm University. She is an elected member of the Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences, and of the Royal Swedish Academy of Engineering Sciences.
Prof. Christoph Koch
Professor, Department of Physics, Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin
Talk Title: Observing Atoms in Motion Using Fast Electrons
Bio: Christoph Koch obtained his undergraduate degree from Heidelberg University, Germany and his PhD in 2002 with John Spence at Arizona State University, U.S.A., and afterwards moved to the Max-Planck Institute for Metals Research in Stuttgart, Germany as a postdoc and staff scientist. In 2011 he became professor at Ulm University, Germany and since 2015 he is Professor at the Department of Physics of Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin where he heads the Structure Research and Electron Microscopy group. The research of his group focuses on the development of state-of-the-art techniques in electron microscopy and spectroscopy and their application to relevant problems in materials research.
