Dear colleagues,
The Southeastern Center for Microscopy of Macromolecular Machines (SECM4) at Florida State University is currently accepting new project applications for cryo-EM studies.
SECM4 is a regional NIH R24-supported cryo-EM user facility providing accessible resources to investigators in the southeastern United States. We especially encourage proposals from groups in the Southeast, where proximity enables iterative, hands-on specimen optimization and close collaboration with staff, while remaining open to users nationwide.
SECM4 supports cryo-EM workflows from specimen preparation and screening through grid optimization and high-resolution data collection. A particular strength of the center is intensive, iterative specimen development, and many users visit on site to work closely with staff to refine challenging samples. Our cryo-EM scientists are also available for consultation about all aspects of the cryo-EM workflow.
Instrumentation includes a Titan Krios and Glacios 2, along with a range of specimen preparation tools, including an SPT Labtech Chameleon and other freezing devices and technologies.
Information about project scope and the application process can be found at: https://urldefense.com/v3/__https://www.secm4.org__;!!Mih3wA!E01Dw8B2DvgqPAgA4jZ5QPao-TWRi6IfI6-i26N7Umu_uE23vGu9RuhVLqQs2mMePCKI4bUtlx0QMdaCRQ$
Please feel free to submit an application or join one of our office hours to discuss project suitability or experimental strategy prior to submission.
Best regards,
Scott Stagg
