We use in situ cryo-electron tomography, including correlative cryo-focused ion beam milling sample preparation and image processing, to explore actin architectures in native cells at molecular resolution. We aim to understand the structural principles that govern actin functions across scales, and to provide an integrated view of the mechanisms of force generation by actin networks in cells.

We are looking for a highly motivated PhD student with a keen interest in studying actin-based processes critical for health and disease using the cryo-ET workflow.
