are looking for a candidate to fill this position who has demonstrated
experience in protein biochemistry and cryo-electron microscopy to support
the research efforts of several groups within the NIDDK intramural program.

The staff scientist will divide their time between a cryo-EM project
solving the structures of protein-nucleic acid complexes and joining a team
of managers to support a state-of-the-art cryo-EM core facility. The core
facility is equipped with 2 x Krios, 2 x Glacios, an Aquilos, a Leica CLEM
system, and numerous sample prep equipment.

Specific responsibilities for the staff scientist include:

 · Conduct an independent structural biology cryo-EM project and work
as a team member within the Structural Biochemistry Section, Laboratory of
Molecular Biology as well as collaborate with other investigators at the
NIH.

· Provide support to a cryo-EM facility which includes microscope
alignment, basic maintenance, data collection, training, and oversight of
users.

Required qualifications:

Applicants must have a Ph.D. in a relevant field. The ideal candidate must
have experience with protein expression, purification, and biochemical or
biophysical characterization of protein-protein, or protein-nucleic acid,
or protein-ligand complexes. The ideal candidate will also have
