biology. We are looking for a candidate to fill this position who has
demonstrated experience in protein biochemistry and cryo-electron microscopy to
support the research efforts of several groups within the NIDDK intramural
program.</p>

<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin:0in;font-size:12pt;font-family:Calibri,sans-serif">The staff scientist will divide their time between a cryo-EM
project solving the structures of protein-nucleic
acid complexes and joining a team of managers to support a state-of-the-art
cryo-EM core facility. The core facility is equipped with 2 x Krios, 2 x
Glacios, an Aquilos, a Leica CLEM system, and numerous sample prep
equipment.   </p>

cryo-EM project and work as a team member within the Structural Biochemistry

<span style="font-size:12pt;font-family:Calibri,sans-serif">Applicants must have
a Ph.D. in a relevant field. The ideal candidate must have experience with
protein expression, purification, and biochemical or biophysical
characterization of protein-protein, or protein-nucleic acid, or protein-ligand
complexes. The ideal candidate will also have demonstrated ability to
independently prepare samples for cryo-EM data collection, operate and maintain
a cryo-EM microscope. The position requires good interpersonal skills to
facilitate productive professional interactions with users from the diverse
