[3dem] Introduction to cryo-electron tomography course

Cryo-electron tomography course hosted by University of Leeds ABSL, Midlands Regional Cryo-EM Facility University of Leicester Leeds ABSL and eBIC Diamond Light Source- November 28th- December 1st 2022

We are pleased to announce an upcoming virtual course this Autumn as part of the UK community-led training program in cryo-EM funded by Wellcome and MRC. This course is aimed at those with some experience in electron microscopy but little or no experience in cryo-electron tomography.

This introduction to electron tomography course will include 1 day of lectures and theory. Over the course, each participant will get 1.5 days on Titan Krios in small groups of 3, to obtain virtual but ‘hands-on’ experience setting up data collection using TFS Tomo software. We will include sessions on sample preparation for cryo-ET and tilt series reconstruction.

This course will offer the opportunity for you to send grids and collect data on your samples during the course, if you are interested in this please include on the application form.
