We are looking for an EM Centre Manager and a Cryo-ET postdoc to join our
team at Monash University. The Ramaciotti Centre for Cryo-Electron

research platform dedicated to the life sciences and enables EM from
experimental design to data analysis with expertise in single particle
analysis, cryo-electron tomography, volume EM, immuno EM and correlative
light and electron microscopy. Its instruments include two Titan Krios
cryo-TEMs (second ordered), a cryo-FIBSEM Helios G5, Talos Arctica, two
120keV TEMs, FESEM, Zeiss Airyscan 2 Cryo-CLEM as well as sample
preparation suite (including HPF Wohlwend, Leica cryo-ultramicrotomes
UC7/FC7, GP2 and Vitrobot freeze plungers). The division is within the Monash
Biomedicine Discovery Institute

*Manager, Monash Ramaciotti Centre for Cryo-EM*
The Manager will be responsible for the effective operational management of
the life sciences electron microscopy research platform. The role ensures
the delivery of high-level expertise in life sciences electron microscopy
to maximise the Centre’s research impact. This includes workflows from
experimental design to data analysis, microscope performance and capability
and research training programmes. The Manager will work closely with the
Director to provide operational and strategic management and play a key
role in implementing and monitoring the strategic priorities for the Centre
and in managing complex and specialist technical operations, staffing,
financial and resource management.

Location: Clayton campus, Monash University, Melbourne, Australia
Employment Type: Full-time, 3-year Fixed-term appointment
Remuneration: $122,734 - $130,276 pa HEW Level 09 (plus 17% employer
superannuation)

*Research Fellow - Cellular cryo-tomography of mitochondria*
The research fellow will conduct research in high-resolution Cryo-EM
imaging of mitochondria under stress (DOI: 10.1126/science.aao6047). This
position is aimed at characterising the formation and fate of
DNA-containing mitochondrial-derived vesicles in apoptotic cells. The
project will require expertise in microscopy and cell biology preferably in
the area of mitochondrial biology and/or membrane trafficking. A
combination of optical microscopy techniques together with Cryo-CLEM,
Cryo-FIB-milling and cryo-tomography will be used throughout the project.
The position is under the joint supervision of Georg Ramm and Kate McArthur
together with Benjamin Kile at the University of Adelaide.

Remuneration: $72,927 - $98,975 pa Level A (plus 17% employer
