[3dem] Reminder - cryo SEM, Cryo FIB, Serial Block Face imaging workshop at Texas A&M University, June 10-12, 2019

Dear All,


The Microscopy and Imaging Center (MIC) of Texas A&M University (TAMU) will be conducting a 3 days’ workshop on the application of Scanning Electron Microscope (SEM) in different research fields, starting June 10th to June 12th , 2019.



The workshop will comprise of several lectures covering application of cryo techniques for different biological specimen and soft matter, usage of SEM in the field of medical research, nanotechnology, geochemistry, mineralogy, thermofluid study, environmental engineering and water purification. Lectures by application specialists from Leica, Thermofisher Scientific, Tescan, Zeiss, Hitachi, Ametek and Park System will highlight the latest technological developments in high resolution SEM, cryo SEM, cryo-FIB and Serial Block Face SEM. There will be hands-on training for sample preparation, imaging using the different SEMs at MIC. A short session for computational image analysis of datasets from cryo-FIB/Serial Block Face SEM will be conducted with interested participants. We have very few seats for the hands-on practical sessions. Therefore we will encourage you to register for the workshop.



The course is ideal for graduate students, postdoctoral researchers and for faculties who are planning to implement the usage of high resolution SEM, cryo-FIB, Serial Block Face SEM to their projects to bring their research work to a succeeding  platform.
