We saw these on a batch (but not on recent ones), if I recall correctly, we just pre-rinsed the grids with buffer and blotting directly prior to applying sample.

Anyway is there a specific way to clean these grids in order to get rid of the unwanted little buggers?

We usually glow discharge our grids with the Pelco easyglow system and its default settings in air, one side only.
