[3dem] new FEI Vitrobot tweezers problem

Hi,

I cannot get my brand new Vitrobot tweezers to open their tines.

For $1700, I do not want to force the black slider any more than I already have tried. Perhaps they lock something so that when they ship them not in a box, they do not break?

Calling FEI has not succeeded, as the person on the phone simply took my phone number.

Is there a first-time trick?
