[3dem] Group leader position in cryo-EM at CEITEC, Czech Republic

Structural biology department at Central European Institute of Technology (CEITEC) at the Masaryk University, Brno, Czech Republic, is seeking a dynamic scientist for a group leader position in cryo-EM.

The candidate is expected to establish an innovative, independent, and collaborative research group and participate in teaching. Recently established cryo-electron microscopy facility at CEITEC houses a FEI Titan Krios equipped with an Gatan Quantum Energy filter and a Falcon II direct detector, a FEI Versa 3D cryo-FIB-SEM and a Tecnai F-20. Thus, candidates exploring innovative technologies interfaced with current structural biology methods, such as cellular cryo-electron tomography, cryo-FIB-SEM and the characterisation of macromolecular complexes in vitro and in vivo, are encouraged to apply.

As the successful applicant you should show:
• a strong record of research accomplishment and evidence of excellence in cryo-electron microscopy / tomography research and its applications
• experience in supervising other scientists
• success in obtaining extramural research funding
