[3dem] CCD retracted when emptying buffer tank

Hi Jian,

On all my FEI instruments, the software for the retractable Gatan cameras automatically inserts the camera when it is retracted and an acquisition is taken, so I don't have any problems if a camera get's retracted and not inserted, I actually don't even know if the CCD retraction is happening as my acquisition simply runs, including buffer cycles.

Best regards,

Wim

Coming with it there is a unexpected 'feature' (according to FEI): The CCD camera is retracted when the emptying buffer tank start to run, but NOT reinserted afterwards. Such behaviour totally defeats any intention of running unsupervised automatic data collection, including FEI's own software. I am wondering if anyone else had similar experience and how to get around of it. Your help is appreciated.
