Dear Greg,

We are also using VueScan on an intel mac (Mac Pro, Leopard) with a Nikon 9000 ED (Firewire) and it works very fine. We also use glass plates (clear and anti-newton) adapted to the FH869 holder made by Focal Point:

We were wondering if anyone has experience using other software to get high-quality scans of micrographs, like VueScan, SilverFast, or Capture NX2, or if it is preferable to dig up an old PowerPC mac from somewhere.
