[3dem] DMSO and vitrified ice digest

Hi Everyone,

I received the following replies regarding my question:

What is the maximum amount of DMSO that can be present in a sample  
when making vitrified grids for cryo-EM?

1.  Ron Milligan:  None, try to avoid any DMSO as it quickly bubbles.
2.  Jeol Meyerson: 1% DMSO used in Chipman et al.  PNAS 1996, vol. 93  
7502-7506.
3.  I found:  2% DMSO used in Zhang et al. PNAS 2009, vol 106 4653-4658

I'm having issues getting good ice, so I don't have any experience  
with DMSO yet.
