Dear 3D EM Community,

We invite you to our symposia at the M&M 2011 meeting, to be held in Nashville, Tennessee on August 7-11, 2011, and encourage you to submit an abstract and join us.

This year the M&M conference will begin with a plenary session featuring a talk by Prof. Stefan Hell on super-resolution microscopy. The B06 "3D Structure" Symposium will cover topics ranging from cellular metabolism, cell division and protein translation; cellular and bacterial adhesion; flagellar and filopodial motility; secretion systems; cell-cell communication and cell signaling; to virus structure and virus-host interactions. Techniques discussed will include electron tomography; electron crystallography; single-particle EM analysis; EM helical reconstruction; light microscopy; atomic force microscopy and X-ray crystallography. Invited talks will be presented by E. Wright, M. Jurica, P. Zhang, P. da Fonseca, M. Samso, and T. Baker.

The abstract submission deadline is on February 15th. The abstract submission website will close at 5PM PST on this date. Abstracts must be 2-pages long. Note that 1-page or shorter abstracts are likely to be rejected by the Program Chair. When you submit your abstract, select the "B06 3D Structure of Macromolecular Assemblies, Cellular Organelles and Whole Cells" symposium. Please see the full paper submission guidelines on the meeting website.
