Dear 3DEM list members,

We would like to draw the attention to three interdisciplinary postdoctoral positions that will become available next year related to 3D electron microscopy.

The European Molecular Biology Laboratory (EMBL) is offering a postdoctoral fellowship opportunity: EMBL Interdisciplinary Postdocs (EIPODs). The position has secure funding for three years for up to 20 postdocs per year. Successful candidates will pursue interdisciplinary projects, transfering techniques to a new context or connecting scientific fields that are usually separate, across at least two labs at the five EMBL sites. Complementary funding can be used to extend postdoctoral training up to a total duration of five years. EMBL Interdisciplinary Postdocs join the EMBL postdoctoral programme with its broad range of advanced training and career development opportunities.

EMBL has outstanding EM-facilities fully equipped in all aspects of cryo-EM including an FEI Polara and a Titan Krios. The computational infrastructure contains a 600-node computer cluster. Furthermore, the laboratory houses the Advanced Light Microscopy Facility (ALMF) that maintains numerous state-of-the-art light microscopes and provides software for fluorescence image analysis.

3DEM related projects:
1. Steven Cusack and John Briggs lab

2. Carsten Sachse and Marko Kaksonen lab
