I've been contacted by a long time colleague who is a medicinal
chemist at a pharmaceutical company regarding the possibility of doing
fee-for-service tomographic reconstructions of a "nanoparticle drug
delivery system." They are somewhat cagey about what the
nanoparticles are made of (since I haven't signed an NDA), but I
presume they are carbon-polymer based, and are they definitely of
appropriate dimension for cryo EM study.
As of now they are not interested in publication or 'standard academic
collaboration;' They really just want to pay someone to look at this
stuff in a cryo-electron microscope. (Single images would be OK,
tomography would be better.)
If you can offer this service, or know of someone who can offer this
service, please write.
All best,
Chris
