[3dem] scanner problems

We have been using the Nikon Supercoolscan 8000-9000's now for several  
years, though honestly we don't use much
film any more. Still several of our recent high resolution structures  
were produced using images from this scanner.

Bob Glaeser also did a bunch of independent testing on this scanner as  
did Richard Henderson. For single particle work
they are very good.
