Postdoc Position in Cryo-Electron Microscopy at Purdue

A postdoc position is available in the Jiang laboratory in the
Department of Biological Sciences, Purdue University, West Lafayette,
Indiana, USA (http://jiang.bio.purdue.edu). The research area is in
high resolution and high throughput 3-D structural determination of
cellular complexes, viruses, and virus-cell interactions using single
particle and tomographic cryo-electron microscopy. The candidate
should have strong background in either of the two categories:
(1) protein biochemistry, virology, and cell biology. Experiences in
structural biology will be preferred.
(2) image processing and scientific computing. Experiences in Fourier
analysis, image processing, 3-D reconstruction, programming and
parallel computing are preferred.
Prior experience in cryo-EM will be a plus. Purdue is well equipped
with cryo-EM instruments including two liquid nitrogen temperature
microscopes (CM200 and CM300) with field emission gun. A 300kV liquid
helium microscope with energy filter will be installed later. All
microscopes are equipped with 4x CCD camera.
Interested candidates should send CV, statement of research interests
and three references to Dr. Wen Jiang (jiang12 at purdue.edu).
