Cryo-EM Facility Manager

The Department of Biological Sciences seeks to fill the
position of Facility Manager for the Centre for
Biomolecular Electron Microscopy (CBEM).

The postholder will be responsible for the daily
operation of the CBEM, a national cryo-EM research
facility sponsored by the BBSRC.

The successful candidate must have a first degree in
the biological, chemical or physical sciences and,
preferably, a PhD. Experience in the operation of
electron microscopes (or other such advanced
scientific instrumentation) is essential. The preparation
of biological samples for cryo-electron microscopy is
crucial to our operation.

The successful candidate must not only have a high
level of technical expertise, but also excellent
interpersonal and organisational skills 

The salary will be in the range £34,762 - £38,836
per annum (Professional Services Level 4) with
exceptional candidates being considered for
Level 5 (£38,836 - £44,656).
