Department of Biological Sciences seeks to fill the<o:p></o:p><BR>position of
Facility Manager for the Centre for<o:p></o:p><BR>Biomolecular Electron
Microscopy (CBEM).<o:p></o:p></SPAN></P>
<P class=MsoNormal><SPAN
style="FONT-SIZE: 11pt; FONT-FAMILY: ArialMT"><o:p></o:p>The postholder will be
responsible for the daily<o:p></o:p><BR>operation of the CBEM, a national
cryo-EM research<o:p></o:p><BR>facility sponsored by the
BBSRC.<o:p></o:p></SPAN></P>
<P class=MsoNormal><SPAN
style="FONT-SIZE: 11pt; FONT-FAMILY: ArialMT"><o:p></o:p>The successful
candidate must have a first degree in<o:p></o:p><BR>the biological, chemical or
physical sciences and,<o:p></o:p><BR>preferably, a PhD. Experience in the
operation of<o:p></o:p><BR>electron microscopes (or other such
advanced<o:p></o:p><BR>scientific instrumentation) is essential. The
preparation<o:p></o:p><BR>of biological samples for cryo-electron microscopy
is<o:p></o:p><BR>crucial to our operation.<o:p></o:p></SPAN></P>

style="FONT-SIZE: 11pt; FONT-FAMILY: ArialMT"><o:p></o:p>The successful
candidate must not only have a high<o:p></o:p><BR>level of technical expertise,
but also excellent<o:p></o:p><BR>interpersonal and organisational

<P class=MsoNormal><SPAN style="FONT-SIZE: 11pt; FONT-FAMILY: ArialMT">The
salary will be in the range £34,762 - £38,836<o:p></o:p><BR>per annum
(Professional Services Level 4) with<o:p></o:p><BR>exceptional candidates being
considered for<o:p></o:p><BR>Level 5 (£38,836 -
£44,656).<o:p><BR> </o:p></SPAN></P>
