We are seeking postdoctoral candidates to develop novel computational
approaches for the determination of structures of macromolecular complexes
using cryo electron microscopy. A principal goal of the project is to
establish a seamless and rapid computational interface between image data
collection and the reconstruction of three-dimensional structures at the
highest attainable resolutions. The position is jointly sponsored by the
laboratories of Drs. Bernard Brooks and Sriram Subramaniam at the National
Institutes of Health in Bethesda, MD, USA.

Electron microscopes capable of operation at 120 kV and 300 kV (FEG), as
well as extensive facilities for high speed and parallel computing are
available in our laboratories. The laboratories are located in a newly
constructed research building, Building 50, on the NIH campus which will
house groups whose interests range from computational biology,
bioinformatics, X-ray and electron crystallography to high resolution
imaging, cell biology, genetics and genome research.

Applicants should send a CV, a brief statement of research interests, and
the names of three references by electronic mail to Bernard Brooks
(brb at nih.gov) and/or Sriram Subramaniam (ss1 at nih.gov).
