Hi all!

King’s College London has an exciting opportunity for a Lecturer/Senior Lecturer in RNA Structural Biology and Cryo-Electron Microscopy to lead a dynamic and forward-looking programme in structural and RNA biology based in the Randall Centre for Cell and Molecular Biophysics.

This position offers: (i) A collaborative structural biology and biophysics environment with strong technical support and shared expertise within the Randall Centre; (ii) Access to state-of-the-art protein and macromolecular characterisation facilities, as well as King’s core research infrastructure that includes a cryo-EM facility; (iii) Excellent opportunities for cross-disciplinary collaboration across King’s and with London partners; (iv) Support to develop an independent research programme and contribute to high-quality teaching and mentorship.

KCL cryo-EM researchers have access to;

  1.
Thermo Scientific Titan Krios G3i with a Gatan K3 direct detector, as part of the London Consortium for Cryo-EM (LonCEM, based at the Francis Crick Institute, London).
  2.
JEOL CryoARM 200 II with a Gatan K3 direct detector (on site in the Cryo-EM Structural Discovery Facility)
  3.
Thermo Scientific Hydra Bio cryo-FIB-SEM with Meteor (under installation at the Institute of Cancer Research, London)
  4.
Leica GP2 and Leica GP1 automated vitrification equipment (on site in the Cryo-EM Structural Discovery Facility).
  5.
Linkam CMS196V⁴ Cryo-Correlative Microscopy Stage on a Nikon fluorescence microscope.
  6.
CREATE-HPC, KCL’s high-performance research computing environment.
