Dear All,

The Australian Research Council, Centre for Cryo-electron Microscopy of
Membrane proteins (CCeMMP) is holding their 3rd Annual 'Bench to Art'
Exhibition to showcase the artistic flair of structural biologists. We
encourage the broader scientific community (not just Centre members and
affiliates) to put forth their creations to be displayed in a virtual
gallery during National Science Week, 2026. Our goal is to share stories of
exploration and discovery in structural biology with the broader community.

This year, we are accepting both STILL IMAGES (and photographs of art) and
ANIMATIONS!

*Prizes*

There is $600 AUD to won across the categories!

*First Prize *

First prize will be awarded by a judging panel comprised of creatives in
the scientific field and artists. Artwork will be evaluated based on their
aesthetic appeal, *not on the data they depict*.

*People's Choice *

People's Choice will be awarded based on voter's choice. The community are
encouraged to vote for their favourite piece during the exhibition.

*Wildcard Award*

More on this later!

*Who can enter?*

This is a free event during National Science Week to promote structural
biology research. We welcome submissions from anyone:

   - using cryo-EM, or;
   - working on membrane proteins using other structural biology techniques
(tomography, crystallography, biochemistry, fluorescence microscopy etc).

*When?*

Creations will be exhibited from the 14th August, 2026. The virtual
gallery will be released to the public during this period to vote for your
favourite piece.
