The Nano Center Nanocharacterization Unit (UNC) at the Hebrew University of
Jerusalem (HUJI), Israel, is seeking a highly skilled and motivated *Cryo-EM
Specialist* to join our team. The UNC is a core facility dedicated to the
advanced characterization of materials and biological systems, offering a
wide array of state-of-the-art analytical techniques. As a multi-user
facility, we support research at HUJI, as well as at other academic
institutions and industries.


We are looking for a talented researcher with expertise in cryo-EM
applications, particularly *Single Particle Analysis (SPA) and
cryo-Electron Tomography (Cryo-ET)*, to contribute as a Research Associate.


Responsibilities


   -

   Perform 3D image processing for SPA and Cryo-ET.
   -

   Conduct cryo-TEM experiments, including sample preparation and
   optimization.
   -

   Maintain and ensure the smooth operation of the cryo-TEM and related
   equipment.
   -

   Train students and researchers in sample preparation, instrument usage,
   data collection, and processing.


Requirements


   -

   PhD in natural sciences (or equivalent experience) with a strong
   background in structural biology.
   -

   Proven hands-on experience with SPA and/or Cryo-ET.
   -

   Strong computational skills, including proficiency in UNIX/Linux, shell
   scripting, and programming languages such as Python or similar.
   -

   Experience in general cryo-TEM imaging and sample preparation is an
   advantage.
   -

   Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to
   collaborate with a diverse group of researchers.
