[3dem] Looking for a new home for our Polara

Hello 3dem community,

I am looking for a new home for our beloved Tecnai Polara, which is in good
working condition, to make room for a new electron microscope that is
scheduled to be installed early next year. Equipped with a Gatan K2 direct
detector, and a 4x UltraScan CCD camera, this microscope had produced a lot
of quality data for Single Particle Analysis, cryo-electron tomography, and
diffraction patterns of protein 2D crystals in the past before Thermo
Fisher's Titan Krios and JEOL's  CryoArm era, and continued to produce good
data up to now.
The microscope has a standard multi-sample chamber (MSC) and a dual-axis
MSC that can be used for Cryo-ET data collection. In addition to the
current working Insertion Rod, we also have a spare Insertion Rod for
backup, as this is the part easy to break but not possible to get from
Thermo Fisher now.
We are hoping to find a new place where it can be used continuously. To
that end, we are giving it for free, including the K2 and CCD cameras, but
you have to pay all the cost for packing it up and shipping it to your
place. If someone has a space for it, and knows how to use it, this is
really a good microscope!

Please note that if you don't take the microscope as a whole, K2 and CCD
cameras are not free.
