Dear all,

We are looking for an outstanding candidate in the area of single-particle cryo-EM with a background in biochemistry and structural biology to support the operation of our state-of-the-art electron microscopy facility. The successful applicant will hold a faculty position with the NTU School of Biological Sciences and be housed in the vibrant NTU Institute of Structural Biology. Applicants who combine EM with biochemistry and/or cell biology methods to answer important fundamental questions in biology and medicine are particularly encouraged to apply. The faculty is expected to teach undergraduate and graduate students.

About us:
Young and research-intensive, Nanyang Technological University (NTU Singapore) is ranked 11th globally. It is also placed 1st amongst the world’s best young universities. A cosmopolitan hub of more than 100 nationalities, the NTU community comprises about 5,000 faculty and researchers. We invite you to be part of this world-class university.
The School of Biological Sciences<http://www.sbs.ntu.edu.sg> (SBS) at Nanyang Technological University was founded in 2002 with the mission to make a strong contribution to biological and biomedical sciences. Since then, many talented individuals from around the world and Singapore have joined SBS as scientific leaders, and researchers. Research areas at SBS include infectious diseases, immunology, neurodegenerative diseases and telomere biology and genome function.

The NTU Institute of Structural Biology<https://nisb.ntu.edu.sg/> (NISB) is a new initiative established in April 2014 that serves as the main structural biology cog to bring all researchers in NTU and elsewhere to address important structural questions in biology and medicine. It is also part of the new life science and biomedical research cluster, aimed at establishing NTU as a key player in this research area. Together with School of Biological Sciences (SBS) and Lee Kong Chian School of Medicine, we offer a vibrant and stimulating research environment with excellent in-house instrumentation for biomedical research, including cryo-EM, protein X-ray crystallography, HR solution and solid-state NMR, Protein Production Platform (PPP), and other biophysical methods.

The cryo-EM facilities houses a 120kV a T12 (iCorr, Eagle), a 200kV Cryo-TEM (Tecnai Artica, F3EC and VPP), a 300 kV Titan Krios electron microscope (energy-filter, Falcon3EC pre-git, K2 post-gif, STEM detectors, FFI, and VPP), a CorrSight (Spinning disk confocal, cryo-stage, mini-SOG stage), and a cryo-FIB SEM for cellular tomography applications.

Responsibilities
We are seeking a colleague who is passionate about interacting and collaborating with scientists at all levels to maintain and develop the state-of-the-art cryo-EM facility. The expectation is that the successful applicant will establish an ambitious and independent cutting-edge research program to explore the fundamental molecular nature of important macromolecular complexes in biology and/or medicine. This team member, together with others, will be responsible for overseeing and maintaining these microscopes as well as organising training and assisting users
