Dear Johanna,
Buy a dry-shipper from Taylor-Wharton, this type of dewar is supposed to hold samples for ~ 17 days (it’s a CX100 here: http://www.taylorwharton.com/assets/base/newsite/literature/cryoscience/TW-330CX-WEB.PDF). And indeed the specs say 17 days.
These dry shippers are used all the time by people who send frozen grids to national facilities to collect EM data (NeCEN, eBic, etc…) and by dozens of cryo-EM labs around the world…
Cheers,
Sacha

Subject: [3dem] Transport of frozen cryo-EM samples
Dear EM colleagues,
I wonder if anyone has experiences with transporting cryo-EM grids, so that the plunge freezing takes place at a different location from imaging? If you have done this to positive effect, can you please give me some information on the equipment that you used and how long you transported the samples (in time)? Tips and tricks? Is it even possible to FedEx?
Many thanks in advance,
Johanna
