HexAuFoil grids are produced by a ground-breaking new process that creates highly consistent grids that can deliver reproducibly thin ice across a grid, delivering faster data collection, simplified data processing and improved reconstructions with fewer images. Developed by Chris Russo and Katerina Naydenova of the MRC LMB, Cambridge, UK and commercialised by SPT Labtech, the feedback from early users continues to confirm the high-quality and high-throughput data collection they enable.

Chen Xu, Ph.D, is the Director of the CryoEM Core Facility at University of Massachusetts Chan Medical School. Initially trained in physicist and materials scientist, Dr. Xu has been in the field of CryoEM for 25+ years. He is a member of the support team for SerialEM

William J. Rice, Ph.D is the Director of the Cryo-EM Core Facility and Assistant Professor of Cell Biology at NYU Grossman School of Medicine. Dr. Rice has been doing cryo-EM for over 20 years, starting with helical reconstruction of Na,K-ATPase tubular crystals. Since then, he has been EM manager at NYSBC and moved back to NYU Langone 5 years ago as the Cryo-EM Core director.
