We have an immediate opening for three PhD student positions at the Department of Fundamental Microbiology, University of Lausanne (UNIL), Switzerland. Please, spread the word!

Candidates interested in structural and cellular biology of microorganisms are encouraged to apply. Successful candidates will investigate the structure and function of bacterial cells and phages that are important for pathogenesis using integrative approaches including cryo-focused ion beam milling, cryo-electron tomography and various cell biology methods.

We have access to two 300 kV Titan Krios, an Aquilos 2, various scanning electron microscopes, 200-120 kV screening electron microscopes, light microscopes, systems for correlative light and electron microscopy (CLEM, THUNDER Leica) and sample preparation equipment.

Our department is located at the EPFL/University of Lausanne campus and has a vibrant research environment and consistently ranked amongst the top research institutions in the world.
