Speakers:

Prof. Michael Elbaum
Professor at the Weizmann Institute of Science, Israel
Talk Title: Cryo-STEM tomography in 2D, 3D, 4D and more

Bio: Prof. Michael Elbaum is Professor at the Weizmann Institute of Science and current head of the Department of Chemical and Biological Physics. He has been active in development and early application of novel 3D imaging techniques, in particular soft X-ray cryo-tomography and cryo-scanning transmission electron tomography. His emphasis is on extension of cryo-EM to the cellular scale. His lab combines approaches from materials and life science, and recently has introduced automated cryo-tomography by 4D STEM.

Prof. Lewys Jones
Ussher Associate Professor in Ultramicroscopy at Trinity College Dublin, Ireland
Talk Title: Scanning Strategies and Lens Designs for the (S)TEM

Bio: Prof. Lewys Jones is the Ussher Associate Professor in Ultramicroscopy and President of the Microscopy Society of Ireland. His group at Trinity College Dublin focusses on modular TEM hardware and methods for fast and low-dose STEM.
