[3dem] Seeking advice on Lab6 filament life time

Hi Mufeeda,

We have changed the Lab6 filament on our Talos L120c for the first time with 4350h on the clock (on ECO, 5µA only). It was barely hanging on by a thread. The current Lab6 filament has already 2400h of use as well, so at 830h, I would highly doubt this is normal (unless it's a faulty filament). What current do you run yours on? 5µA? or higher?

As far as I am aware, Lab6 lifetime is certified for at least 1000-1500h, so I would contact service and ask them to have a look at the gun, if this is not something you do yourself. On a Tungsten filament I had to adjust gun alignments and heat values several times throughout the lifetime of a filament. Lab6 is more stable, but can still shift a bit.

Good luck,

Cornelia

Dear 3D EM members,

We have Talos L120C, recently we noticed that the beam is quite unstable
(it kind of started flickering). Filament readout shows 830+ hrs. Should we
replace the filament sooner?

Is there any disadvantage if we set the filament heating upto 50?
