*EM faculty, postdoc and RA positions at SUSTech*

*SUSTech Institute for Biological Electron Microscopy*(*SIBEM*) has 
launched a search to fill multiple positions in all ranks, including 
principle investigators, postdocs and research assistants. Faculty rank 
will be determined by the qualifications and experience of the 
successful candidate. We will provide globally competitive salary and 
benefits, as well as exceptional EM research support.

(1)Tenure system investigators: tenured Chair/Full/Associate Professor, 
and tenure-track Associate/Assistant Professor

(2)Non-tenure system investigators: Research Full/Associate/Assistant 
Professor

SIBEM was established in April 2023, as a university-level entity 
scientific research institution at Southern University of Science and 
Technology (SUSTech) in Shenzhen, China. With the goal of driving the 
development of biological EM, SIBEM focuses on establishment of new EM 
methods and innovative EM application in new research areas. SIBEM 
directly manages SUSTech Cryo-EM Center which hosts 6 Titan Krios and 
other state-of-the-art EM instruments.

*(1) Tenure system investigators:
Tenured Chair/Full/Associate Professor, and tenure-track 
Associate/Assistant Professor*

Tenure system investigators will be jointly appointed by SIBEM and a 
SUSTech school, such as School of Life Sciences and School of Medicine. 
These investigators will lead the core research groups of SIBEM, take 
part in running the institute, and enjoy _priority EM instrument and 
personnel support including multiple days of free (or half-price) Titan 
Krios usage each month_.

The candidates are expected to establish high-quality and unique 
research program of using EM to study fundamental biological questions. 
In addition to evidence of prior academic achievements, successful 
applicants must demonstrate future plans that emphasize creative 
application of EM techniques to explore new fields, development of 
critical EM methods or instruments, or innovative interdisciplinary 
research.

Research Full/Associate/Assistant Professor*

Non-tenure system investigators are appointed by SIBEM and serve as the 
main driving force of SIBEM research efforts. The candidates are 
expected to focus on important EM techniques and unique research 
directions, as well as to develop collaborative research programs with 
other investigators in and outside SIBEM. In addition to evidence of 
prior academic or technical achievements, successful applicants must 
demonstrate interest, capability and persistence of leading EM projects.
