Correlative imaging techniques are at the heart of the crusade for better
understanding of subcellular biological structures. The use of Correlative
Workflows, including Cryo EM, Sub-tomogram averaging, Cryo-FIB, and 3D
Volume Imaging, are powerful tools in the field of (in-situ) structural
biology, allowing researchers to obtain higher and higher resolution images
of complex biological specimens such as organoids and 3D cultures.

In this webinar, experts from the European Molecular Biology Laboratory and
Leica Microsystems will explore advanced techniques that comprise
Correlative Workflows. They will cover the full workflow: from the best
sample preparation practices, through FIB milling and Electron Microscopy
techniques, to image processing and 3D reconstruction.

*Edoardo D'Imprima*
*Postdoctoral Fellow, EMBL, Heidelberg*

Dr. D'Imprima is an EMBL Postdoc investigating cancer onset in tissues
using organoid 3D-cell culture systems. He uses advanced imaging
techniques including Cryo-ET, subtomogram averaging, cryo-FIB/SEM, CLEM,
and high-pressure freezing of multicellular specimens.

*Zhengyi Yang (**杨正宜**)*
*Cryo-Electron Tomography Specialist, EMBL, Heidelberg*

Dr Yang is a cryo-CLEM specialist at the EMBL Imaging Centre in Heidelberg,
supporting academic and industrial users in their cryo-EM projects, from
sample preparation to data collection. He has previous experience at the
eBIC (Electron Bio-Imaging Centre) at the Diamond Light Source in the UK.

*Andreia Pinto*
*Advanced Workflow Specialist, Leica Microsystems*

Dr. Pinto is an experienced electron microscopist, with expertise in
biomedical science, histocellular pathology, and EM image pattern
recognition. She is currently based at the EMBL where she continues to
contribute to cutting-edge research in advanced correlative workflows.


*Martin Fritsch*
*Advanced Workflow Specialist, Leica Microsystems*

Dr. Fritsch specializes in immunohistochemistry, histology, and confocal
microscopy techniques. He is also based at the EMBL and is working on
in-situ hybridization methods to analyze gene expression patterns during
ontogeny.
