Dr. Juergen Plitzko

Group leader for cryo-EM technology at the Max Planck Institute of Biochemistry in Martinsried, Germany

Talk Title: Cutting-edge technologies and methods for in situ structural biology with cryo-ET

Bio: Juergen Plitzko is a permanent research group leader for cryo-EM technology at the Max Planck Institute of Biochemistry in Martinsried. Research in JP's group focuses on the development and application of tools and technologies in and for cryo-EM.



Prof. Yuichi Ikuhara

Professor at University of Tokyo

Talk Title: Grain Boundary and Surface Atomic Structures and Diffusion in Li-Ion Battery Related Crystals

Bio: Yuichi Ikuhara is a professor at the University of Tokyo and is current president of the Japanese Society of Microscopy. He is known for his research using advanced TEM techniques such as ABF to study Li compounds and in situ work on deformation mechanisms.
