Dear Colleagues,

A postdoctoral position is immediately available for a highly motivated individual interested in elucidating molecular mechanisms of ubiquitin signaling and DNA repair. Research is focused on the enzymatic machinery responsible for protein ubiquitination and large protein complexes involved in regulating DNA repair and immunity. These issues will be addressed using a multidisciplinary approach that includes cryo-EM and X-ray crystallography, complemented with biochemical/biophysical techniques and cell-based assays.

Successful candidates will join the vibrant scientific community at UT Health San Antonio and enjoy abundant access to state-of-the-art cryo-EM instrumentation including a Glacios TEM equipped with a Falcon 4 direct electron detector and Selectris Imaging Filter that are the centerpiece of our brand new cryo-EM facility. Access to outstanding X-ray crystallography and NMR resources are also available.

Candidates should hold a recently obtained PhD in biochemistry, chemistry, or related subject. Demonstrated expertise in cryo-EM is highly desirable, though individuals with expertise in protein chemistry, and/or the biochemical analysis of protein ubiquitination and/or DNA repair will also be considered. Experience with protein expression in insect and mammalian cells is a plus.
