[3dem] Gatan Cryo-transfer holder: frequent shutter problem

Dear all,

We use a Gatan cryo-transfer holder 915 on our JEOL2100. The holder
recently has a constant shutter problem: the shutter screw gets broken and
the shutter is detached from the control tube. The holder has been repaired
five times in the past 18 months. To avoid the problem, we maintain the
holder above the level of liquid nitrogen at sample loading and no liquid
nitrogen flash on the tip. We also do a bake-out cycle in a Gatan dry pump
every 2-3 days. Still, the problem remains.

I am wondering if anyone encountered same problem and am grateful for your
insight on this matter. Thank you!
