Dear Colleagues, Cryo-EM Practitioners and Virus Structure Enthusiasts!
We would like to draw your attention to the FASEB Virus Structure and Assembly Conference that will be held this year (postponed from 2020) at the Southbridge Conference Center, Southbridge, MA, June 26 – Jun 30, 2022.
As in previous years, this conference will draw an international group of researchers with broad interests in the structure and function of viruses, with a strong representation of cryo-EM specialists and structural biologists of all stripes. The keynote speakers are Dr. Hong Zhou (University of California Los Angeles) and Dr. Karla Kirkegaard (Stanford University), followed by sessions on virus evolution, virus-host interactions, viral replication, virus assembly and others. We have slots available for short talks, and everybody is encouraged to present posters. As always, we expect a great meeting with exciting science, vibrant discussions and fun social events!

A detailed program, registration and abstract submission will be available in February.
Southbridge is a quaint New England town, known as the “Eye of the Commonwealth” due to its history of producing optical products, as commemorated in the town’s Optical Museum. The Southbridge Hotel & Conference Center (https://urldefense.proofpoint.com/v2/url?u=https-3A__www.southbridgehotel.com&d=DwIGaQ&c=-35OiAkTchMrZOngvJPOeA&r=L7-zyQ-04fFCMRqzLIOnx7H0exGZHwIQe_wMPuY600I&m=Bfmlmx6hP8j_m1sNiAchCgcBxzrZGTfsox8AUiBUhdND6F-inEq-7ewEpCbowEBF&s=mA32KwNS9ctcp3_ewAFF_v61nAHOv4-2iTIeYOThd_8&e= ) is an outstanding new venue for FASEB, conveniently located close to major airports in Boston (62 mi), Hartford (55 mi) and Providence (47 mi).
Feel free to contact the organizers, Terje Dokland (dokland at uab.edu<mailto:dokland at uab.edu>) or Susan Hafenstein (hafenstein at psu.edu<mailto:hafenstein at psu.edu>) for further information.

FASEB COVID-19 Onsite Health and Safety measures (as of January 2022, subject to change):
Vaccination Requirement: FASEB is requiring all in-person conference participants to be vaccinated for COVID-19. Conference participants will be asked for verification of COVID vaccination records before receiving credentials to access the in-person conference.
Testing Availability: We encourage all participants to obtain a COVID-19 test before departing for their SRC. FASEB will not provide COVID-19 testing at the conference but will communicate information about nearby testing centers (any scheduling or applicable fees are the responsibility of the attendee).
Mask Requirements: Mask requirements are still under discussion and will take into consideration state and local guidelines closer to the start of the respective conferences.
Other COVID-19 Protocols: FASEB will communicate additional, conference-specific, safety information closer to each meeting and will update participants accordingly.
