The Midlands Regional Cryo-EM Facility<https://urldefense.com/v3/__https://le.ac.uk/liscb/facilities-and-technologies/cryo-electron-microscopy?utm_source=uol&utm_medium=shorturl&utm_campaign=cryoem__;!!Mih3wA!FNVRMwbRmOpbTVb1K5sUrAGfRWxYHi1LRAb629ehv3YPwk_QWX8JI1czqktpJhtE1sHQw4M0uEm7bAdL-9I8lg$ > based at the University of Leicester has a permanent post for an Experimental Officer in Cryo-EM. The successful applicant will work with the facility manager to assist and train users on all aspects of Cryo-EM including sample preparation, data collection and data processing. The facility houses a TFS Titan Krios G3 equipped with a Bioquantum-K3, screening microscope and ancillary equipment. Recent upgrades for fringe-free illumination and aberration-free image-shift are resulting in up to 900 micrographs/hour of high-quality data.
We have an ever-growing community of scientists using Cryo-EM and the post holder will also be able to collaborate internally on a number of exciting projects.
