Dear all,

One postdoctoral position will be immediately available in Dr. Rui Zhang's
group (https://urldefense.com/v3/__https://zhangrui.wustl.edu/__;!!Mih3wA!QCqHOdarvX1n5dPHyj6LVVHmnpSyt3Ic0NK81ga0wRQg8TwUyLseTEE3e5vTofuYqw$ ) at the Washington University in St.
Louis. The lab is located at WU School of Medicine (WUSM) campus. WU has
two state-of-the-art cryo-EMs, including a 300 kV FEI Titan Krios and a
200kV FEI Glacios (the new model of Talos Arctica). A JEOL-1400 TEM is
available for negative stain. Our WU imaging facility (
https://urldefense.com/v3/__https://wucci.wustl.edu/__;!!Mih3wA!QCqHOdarvX1n5dPHyj6LVVHmnpSyt3Ic0NK81ga0wRQg8TwUyLseTEE3e5ugXafnpA$ ) is also fully equipped for cryo FIB-milling.

Dr. Zhang started his own group at WUSM in Dec 2016. We primarily
use high-resolution single particle cryo-EM to study the structures and
functions of native macromolecular complexes related to microtubules, cilia
and cytoskeleton from various species including parasites and humans. Our
lab, together with Alan Brown lab and Susan Dutcher lab, have recently
published the atomic structure of ciliary microtubule doublet as the cover
story of Cell, and the atomic structures of radial spokes as the cover
story of NSMB.

The candidates must have (or expecting) a PhD or equivalent degree in
biological sciences. Two types of qualifications are preferred:
1) Expertise in single particle cryoEM or cryoET. *Candidates with model
building skills are highly appreciated. *
2) Expertise in biochemistry, cell biology or microbiology (it’s OK if you
don't have any structural background).

To apply, please email your C.V. and names of your references to
zhangrui at wustl.edu
