[3dem] Registration for Southern California Cryo-EM Symposium 2020--Poster/Speaker deadline extended

To our colleagues in Southern California,

The deadline to register for a poster or a talk at the 5th Annual SoCal Cryo-EM Symposium has been extended to Wednesday, October 21st at 5pm PST.

If you’ve registered as an attendee, but have changed your mind and want to present, simply re-register as a poster presenter or speaker. We will be providing lunch delivery coupon for all poster presenters, and all speakers and poster presenters will be notified of their acceptance by 10/23. We are also currently accepting original artwork for our cryo-EM art contest. This can be a picture of artsy data, a picture of a cake you have baked, a poem, or whatever art cryo-EM has inspired you create. Please register for the symposium and send a .png or .jpeg of your art to socalcryoem2020 at gmail.com<mailto:socalcryoem2020 at gmail.com> by October 29th at 5pm.

There will be prizes for posters, the art contest, and for the most active participants in the meeting thanks to our generous sponsors!

The day will begin at 9am and will feature short talks by post-docs and graduate students, a poster session, a self-care power hour, a cryo-EM art contest judged by Prof. David Goodsell (Scripps Research) a Keynote Panel about the future directions of cryo-EM, cryo-ET, and microED by Professor Rebecca Voorhees (Caltech), Dr. Danielle Grotjahn (Scripps Research), and Dr. Jessica Bruhn (Nanoimaging Services), and it will end with a virtual Happy Hour and Vendor Show for all interested members of the community. General registration will be available until Thursday, October 29th.
