CryoEM / CryoET FACILITY SENIOR MANAGER

The National Institutes of Health is seeking an accomplished individual to manage and maintain a new state-of-the-art cryo-electron tomography (cryoET) facility located on the NIH campus in Bethesda, Maryland. The new cryoET facility is an expansion of the Mutli-Institute CryoEM facility (MICEF).  The primary responsibilities include ensuring high quality data is generated on an Aquilos cryo-FIB and Krios electron microscope, training users in sample preparations and imaging acquisition, and providing guidance in current and future image processing programs and pipelines.  Candidates should have experience in managing and operating high-end cryoEM microscopes such as Titan Krios, cryoET methods and/or cryo-FIB and hands on experience in various cell or tissue preparations for electron microscopic approaches.  Tissue culture experience and an interest in technical development are preferable.  Multiple intramural institutes with considerable strength in structural and cell biology will have shared access and oversight responsibility for this facility. Good technical, communication, and teaching skills are essential for this position and a PhD or equivalent experience is required.

This position will be filled at the NIH Staff Scientist level with a salary commensurate with qualifications and experience.
