Dear all,

SciLifeLab and Stockholm University seek to hire a Computer
Scientist/System Administrator, who will be associated with Alexey Amunts
lab.

As a key member of the local cryo-EM community, the primary responsibility
of the Computer Scientist/System Administrator is to set up a computational
environment for cryo-EM and data storage, develop scripts and software
pipelines for efficient imaging processing, support computational/imaging
related research questions, and drive independent projects.
The position offers attractive opportunities for acquisition of new
knowledge in developing fields and potential for future professional
growth. For example, involvement in ongoing collaborations with the
business sector through AstraZeneca and educational sector through
Visualisation Centre, to illustrate the molecular data for the general
public.
The position would suit a computational person with a proactive attitude,
experienced with working in a highly productive environment, and capable of
running different projects simultaneously.

The cryo-EM environment on the campus is state-of-the-art and during 2020
will house three Titan Krios, Talos Arctica, cryo-FIB-SEM, cryo-confocal.
Long-term research funding is secured through ERC, Wallenberg foundation,
Swedish foundation for strategic research and Cancer foundation.

*ABOUT AMUNTS LAB*
The research group investigates the fundamental question how proteins are
synthesized, folded and assembled into functional multicomponent
bioenergetic complexes that drive the cellular energy production. The group
members have determined cryo-EM structures of complex multi protein
assemblies driving key cellular processes, including chlororibosomes,
mitoribosomes, photosystems and ATP synthase. The revealed molecular
mechanisms, activities and regulation illuminate how different cells obtain
their energy and maintain the bioenergetic balance.
