The Fitzpatrick lab, a member of the Zuckerman Institute at Columbia
University, seeks to hire an electron microscopist (Staff Scientist) to
join a CLEM / cryo-ET / SEM research program dedicated to imaging neurons,
glia, and human brain tissue.
The successful candidate will play a lead role in instrument support, user
training, and methods development. Access to a state-of-the-art suite of
electron and light microscopes includes:
- Aquilos cryo-FIB/SEM microscope, Leica cryo-correlative fluorescence
light microscope, Zeiss LSM800 cryo-confocal with AiryScan detector
- Nova Nano SEM, Zeiss SIM/PALM super-resolution light microscope
- Titan Krios microscope(s) with Gatan BioQuantum energy filter, K3
Summit direct electron detector, Volta phase plate, NVIDIA RTX 2080Ti
GPU cluster
Compensation will be competitive based on experience. There is no
pre-defined term limit on the length of the appointment.
