Hi,
At FSU, I had a single loading station and it never cracked. That station is now 8 years old. I suspect the older stations are more robust. We often filled the transfer station with LN2 such that grid could be kept submerged (transfer ice is a real issue if working in cryo gas in Florida). However, we were careful not to overfill the transfer station such that the LN2 overflowed the working chamber of the station. We also let it warm up to RT by itself in most cases and less frequently used a hair dryer to carefully warm it.

Subject: [3dem] Leaking loading stations
Hi All,
Do other facilities have any issues with the loading stations for the
Krios/Arctica? We just experienced our second failure in the last month.
The LN2 is leaking out at a pretty rapid rate from cracks at the base of
the stations. These are not being abused in any way (as far as I know),
and the worst part is the price quote from Thermo.
Thanks,
Michael Braunfeld
