[3dem] Post-doctoral position available

Dear colleagues,

 

A post-doctoral researcher position is available in my group.

 

Our Titan Krios G3 with a phase-plate and Gatan K2 and Falcon 3 cameras,
Talos Arctica with a phase-plate and a Falcon 3 camera, and a T12 are all
operational and waiting for you! We do not have months of wait time to use
these EMs for a few days, typical in many other places.

 

My group is a part of the
<https://www.uow.edu.au/molecular-horizons/index.html> Molecular Horizons
research centre. At $80 million, it is the largest investment ever made by
this university. I am also affiliated with the
<https://www.ihmri.org.au/researchers/gokhan-tolun/> Illawarra Health and
Medical Research Institute (IHMRI).

 

My main interest is studying protein complexes that carry out processes
involving nucleic acids, such as DNA recombination and replication, and RNA
transcription.

 

Wollongong is only an hour away from one of the World’s third

much more liveable than Sydney!

 

Only minutes to the miles-long beaches and rock-pools, it is just a

Candidates who have expertise in cloning, protein overexpression and
purification (ideally, from both bacteria and insect cells), and cryo-EM
(including computer skills such as familiarity with Linux and
scripting/coding), will be preferred.
