[3dem] SEM Operator in Sussex, UK

Quorum Technologies invites candidates for the position of Electron Microscope Operator to be based at our manufacturing facility in Laughton, East Sussex, UK.

The EM Operator will be responsible for running a Hitachi FE-SEM equipped with Quorum's PP3010T Cryo-EM sample preparation chamber and Oxford Instruments EDX as well as various other sample preparation and measuring equipment.


You will work closely with Sales and Engineering to investigate and document the capabilities of Quorum's EM sample preparation range of equipment, including coaters, freeze dryers, CPD and plasma ashers. You will also use the FE-SEM for live demonstrations of Cryo-EM, conduct training of distributors and customers in sample preparation techniques and provide assistance with new product development.



This role requires expertise in EM and related sample preparation techniques, in particular practical experience of high resolution cryo-EM would be useful. In addition, you will need to develop effective working relationships with colleagues and customers and therefore must have strong communication skills.  You will be required to work independently so organisation skills and the ability to work under pressure are also essential.
