Dear colleagues,

This is a reposting for a Research Scientist position in the cryo-EM 
facility at New York University Medical Center in downtown Manhattan. 
The NYU cryo-EM facility is a newly opened core facility that includes a 
Titan Krios G3i and a Talos Arctica with advanced detectors and Volta 
phase plates. Although current applications are focused on single 
particle cryo-EM, we foresee expansion to cryo-electron tomography and 
electron crystallography as the facility matures. To enable this 
process, we are now seeking candidates with experience in cryo-EM and a 
desire to work with our expanding community of users. This position will 
remain open until filled and a competitive salary will be provided based 
on experience.

*Qualifications:*

·Previous experience in cryo-electron microscopy especially in regards 
to microscope operation

·A Good team player who enjoys a collaborative and respectful team 
environment

·Motivation to learn new technologies and to take on new challenges

·Eagerness to develop or implement new methods

·Good communication and people skills and an ability to interact with 
users/collaborators with varying degrees of experience

·Ability to troubleshoot problems and develop effective solutions

·Notable record-keeping skills

·Extreme attention to detail and a commitment to excellence

*Responsibilities:*

·Work with and train users of the cryo-EM facility

·Help maintain and operate cryo electron microscopes and related equipment

·Benchmark and optimize microscope performance for data collection

·Participate in method developments/optimization of the cryo-EM pipeline

·Maintain accurate and comprehensive records of daily operations
