[3dem] graphene oxide on Quantifoil Cu grids

Hi Mani,

I don’t think the Quantifoil Cu grids are the problem. At least not in general. We had a bad batch once but since then all is fine. In my experience the Quanitifoil Au grids are a bit better but just when it comes to how nicely it is covered, not whether it is covered at all. If you have another batch of grids you could give that a try just to be sure.

I think the problem is the power of the Pelco Easiglow. I only heard once that someone got it to work with that machine. I myself tried it for a bit and didn’t get it to work. I think if you have the option to use a stronger glow discharger I would try that first. Maybe someone here managed to get it to work with the easyglow. If so it would be great to hear with which conditions.

I hope you get it to work.

Cheers,
Thomas
