FACULTY POSITION YALE UNIVERSITY

DEPARTMENT OF MOLECULAR BIOPHYSICS & BIOCHEMISTRY

The Department of Molecular Biophysics & Biochemistry at Yale University seeks applicants for a faculty appointment in the area of structural biology, with a focus on electron cryo-microscopy (Cryo-EM). Applications will be considered for a position at any level—Assistant Professor, Associate Professor or Full Professor. The anticipated start date is July 1, 2018.

Yale University, which has recently established a state-of-the-art microscopy facility including a Titan Krios microscope, has a dynamic cryoEM community with junior and senior faculty from several departments. The Department of Molecular Biophysics & Biochemistry, located both in the Faculty of Arts & Sciences and in the School of Medicine, spans a broad range of research areas including protein translation and homeostasis, RNA biology, genomics and DNA repair, cytoskeleton and membrane biology, and employs a broad range of structural, genetic and computational approaches.

The successful candidate is expected to establish an active research group, be an interactive member of the faculty, and contribute to the department’s teaching program at the undergraduate and graduate levels. Applicants must hold a Ph.D. or equivalent degree at the time of hire.

Applicants should create a profile at Interfolio and upload a cover letter, curriculum vitae, statement of current and future research plans (up to 3 pages), and up to five reprints of papers published or in press. Assistant Professor applicants should also arrange for three referees to upload their letters of recommendation by the due date. Review of applications will begin on September 1, 2017 and will continue until the position is filled. To ensure full consideration, please submit all materials by September 15, 2017. Address questions to Jonathon Howard, Eugene Higgins Professor of Molecular Biophysics and Biochemistry, Chair of the Search Committee.

Yale University is an Affirmative Action/Equal Opportunity employer. Yale values diversity among its students, staff, and faculty and strongly welcomes applications from women, persons with disabilities, protected veterans, and underrepresented minorities.
